25 week scan

I went to the doctor at 25 weeks in a bit of a panic because I was getting some lower abdominal pain and my ankles had swollen more than I had ever seen in my life.

Everyone thought my cankles were hilarious but it was painful so I headed for the doctor.

She checked my blood pressure and it was really high so she sent me for a scan just to make sure bubs was ok and it turned out not only was he/she ok but extremely healthy and still active as ever.

She ordered me to finish work immediately other than minor on-call work (bugger :P) and I was sent home for full bed rest.

19 week scan

At the 19 week scan the radiologist told us that I have placenta previa. Apparently this means that my placenta is low lying and very close to the opening.

He said i'll have to have another scan around 32-34 weeks to find out whether it's moved away and if not then it may mean a caesarian delivery.

Bubs was very healthy with excellent development though and was kicking like mad during the whole scan!
